Articles in Heat Magazine about how the fans could be the reason One Direction break up (better format)
most relevant thing to happen to this fandom. must must must read for everyone
it’s all fun and games until it’s not
not a 1D fan but this I believe applies to -all- kinds of artists, actors and such. the obsessive worship of ~real people~ does in fact put them into incredibly stressful situations that can leave them and their loved ones feeling incredibly unsafe. :/
Ignoring this is about 1 Direction, but this is something that everyone should read. Shipping real people is seriously weird and creepy. It just should not be done.
The sad thing is that this is relevant to so many fandoms, but the people who most need to understand this are also the ones most likely to think it doesn’t apply to them.
A 21 year old guy had worn a pair of contact lenses during a barbecue party.(An event or meal at which food is cooked outdoors over an open grill or fire)
While barbecuing he stared at the fire charcoals continuously for 2-3 minutes.
After a few minutes, he started to scream for help and moved rapidly, jumping up and down.
No one in the party knew why he was doing this?
Then he admitted into the Hospital, the doctor said he’ll be blind permanently because of the contact lenses that he had worn.
Contact lenses are made by plastics, and the heat from the charcoal melted his contact lenses.
DO NOT WEAR CONTACT LENSES WHERE OVERHEATING AND FLAMES ARE CONCERNED…. OR WHILE COOKING…!
Spread this around because this sounds terrible as fuck!

I love how the Addams Family has ZERO slut-shaming. Like… honey you can dance naked and enslave someone with your womanly charms if you want to, I don’t fucking care, but so help me you’re going to get a college education first.
The Addamses are what every family should aspire to be like (you know; without the dismemberment and electric chairs as play time). Honestly, have you ever seen more unconditionally loving and supportive parents than Gomez and Morticia? And not just with the kids, but with each other. I think what’s especially unique about them is how open they are with everything. They don’t treat their children like children. They treat them like they treat everyone else; direct, and to the point.
I HAVE to reblog this…
It’s creepy how many good examples of parenting and romantic relationships there is in these characters, especially considering they are supposed to be the antithesis of the stereotypical American nuclear family.
but aren’t they just functioning to show that representations of the stereotypical American nuclear family are really fucked up?

How do they keep it from hitting stuff? Like, say, a person who might have been standing there?
There’s probably a camera so it knows where to land… you know, so it won’t land on a roof or in the middle of the street or something…
I don’t understand the LGBTTQQIIA hate towards allies. I’m not generalizing but I’ve heard some pretty mean things said about straight people who want to help in the fight for equality. My question is: if we’re all in this fight together, why prevent a certain group of people from acting on what they believe, just because of their sexual preference? Wouldn’t that be oppression? Discrimination? We are doing the thing we are trying to prevent. Just a question.
SOMEOME SAID IT
Zur’gald Ironmaw, proud warrior of Orgrimmar, laughs heartily as he hefts his trusty battleaxe over one plated shoulder. He exudes an aura of raw power and ferocity. An assortment of dwarf heads hang from his glistening chain mail belt, and his giant muscles bulge from beneath his sleeve. “Foolish human!” He bellows, in a voice as strong and intimidating as the massive bluffs of Durotar. “How dare you claim that the pitiful Alliance is blameless! You will pay for your crimes against the mighty Horde in blood!” With three fateful, thundering footsteps, Zur’gald strides towards the weakling Ally and cleaves him with a single, fluid swing of his legendary axe. At the wafting stench of spilled human blood, Zur’gald throws back his head and gives forth an ancient war-cry of victory. Lok’tar ogar you son of a fuck
This is hard for me to post but I feel like it is important.
I remember hating my face and hating my skin and looking at all the girls around me in middle school and on TV and in ads and feeling like I was a monstrosity in comparison. But I remember the first time I realized women plucked their eyebrows. And wore concealer. And foundation. And powder. I felt like I had been lied to about what women look like. After modeling and realizing when photographers asked for no makeup, they really meant the photo on the right. I started realizing that the photo on the right was what was in skincare ads and posted by people claiming in the caption to be wearing no makeup some of the time. The photo on the right is the bare minimum of what we expect women to look like when they wake up in the morning.
Thought this would be of interest to some people, especially since the topic of how women’s faces in video games, comics, etc being depicted as smooth with no lines (even for facial expressions) has come up before. Also, how often women will be drawn with default eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipstick, etc even if there should be no reason for them to wear it because they have been living in the wild, or they’re warrior women who have expressed no interest in it, or etc…
It’s part of how society constructs what women look like in people’s minds; that what we put on to ‘enhance’ appearance end up being part of the default way women are expected to look. Even if the characters are supposed to be “plain” or “practical” in context, they’ll still be drawn as if they’re wearing some base amount of make up, because that’s how we’re conditioned to see women in our imaginations. And stuff like airbrushing, photoshop, and what’s described in the above article also is part of this, and can skew how we perceive what the ‘normal’ or ‘average’ woman is supposed to look like.
